Arsenal claimed an essential three points in its quest to win the Premier League for the eirst time since 2004, after a VAR review nullified a West Ham tying goal in the fifth minute of added time, winning 1-0 at London Stadium.
Unbelievable drama. This is going to get called back 𤯠𤯠š¤Æ
With the victory, Arsenal are five points clear of Manchester City with two matches remaining — home for relegated Burnley and at Crystal Palace, who are currently 14th in table. It's not over yet, though, as Man City has one match in hand. but their road is rough, with an extra game in the mix because of their FA Cup final against Chelsea making four matches in 12 days — Palace at the Etihad, then at Bournemouth (6th in table) and back to the Etihad to face Aston Villa (5th) in the season finale.
My take: I've seen goalkeepers fight through worse contact, but it was restrictive contact by rule, so no problem with the no-goal VAR call. An Arsenal win over Burnley pretty much seals it. Man City will be looking to win the FA Cup on Saturday, and with Champions League already secured for next season, expect several players to be rested against Palace Tuesday.
