A raucous Sabres crowd at Key Bank Center, seeing their first playoff hockey in 15 years, was nervous, as the home side trailed the Bruins, 2-0, with eight minutes remaining in the third period. No worries. The Sabres rattled off three goals over the next four minutes and 34 seconds, to take the lead.
First, Tage Thompson scored his second straight goal to tie it, thanks to a tremendous forecheck by Alex Tuch ...
... then, 52 seconds later, Mattias Samuelsson raised the roof off Key Bank Center:
The game-winner was actually an empty-net goal by Tuch, when the Bruins scored a power-play goal with eight seconds remaining to set the final score at 4-3.
My take: Great atmosphere. Happy for the Buffalo fans who have been too long without playoff hockey. Even sweeter it came against the Bruins. Only the hated Habs could being greater joy.
