Rams left tackle Alaric Jackson has been arrested by the Los Angeles Police Department for felony domestic violence. The alleged incident occurred Monday night, and officers responded at approximately 11 p.m.
The police report said Jackson was arguing with a woman wand was attempting to take her phone from her, accusing her of filming him. The woman had scratches on her arm. The LAPD arrested him on felony domestic battery, then was processed and held overnight on $50,000 bail. Jackson posted that bail Tuesday morning and was released from custody.
Neither the Rams nor the NFL have made a statement at this time.
Jackson is no stranger to controversy. He was suspended for two games in 2024, for recording a sexual encounter with a Philadelphia woman without her consent. In November 2025, she was sued him over it and that suit is still pending.
My take: That's three NFL players arrested for alleged domestic violence since May 26, when Packers running back Josh Jacobs was arrested on four counts, one a felony. Broncos linebacker Jon Cooper and his girlfriend were each arrested on June 4 for misdemeanor domestic violence and criminal mischief.
Until the NFL and the NFLPA decide to put some severe penalties in place for this stuff, it will continue to happen. Beyond the Ray Rice incident, for which they were forced to take serious action under public pressure (because they were covering it up), the longest suspension has been six games (Ezekiel Elliott, Josh Brown). There is no deterrent in place now strong enough to be preventative.
