Brewers ace Jacob Misiorowski threw a "Maddux" on Friday night, shutting out the Brewers on one hit, using The term stems from Hall of Fame pitcher Greg Maddux, and referes to any complete game shutout throwing fewer than 100 pitches.
Misiorowski dispatched the Phillies on 95 pitches, striking out 15 and walking none. Klyle Schwarber was the only blemish on Misiorowski's line, stroking a single in the fourth inning. 'Miz' improved to 8-2 on the season and lowered his earned-run average to 1.34.
My take: That's astonishing. Just under half his pitches thrown were the strikes for his 15 strikeouts.
