The National Hockey League has suspended Golden Knights defenseman Brayden McNabb one game for his major-penalty interference on Duck forward Ryan Poehling, that also drew a game misconduct:
My take: The general opinion of most folks was that the game misconduct was punishment enough, coming midway through the first period. Mark this the one time the NHL was more strict in supplemental discipline that its fans. That said, good. McNabb had no other interest than running Poehling. And the NHL got one thing that it looks for when considering this stuff — Poehling was injured and did not return. Punish the result, not the deed. Idiots.
