Sidney Crosby’s “by no means ruled out of the tournament,” Canada coach Jon Cooper just said of his captain’s status for the final two games of the Olympics in Milan, Italy.
“We’ve got the best of the best looking at him,” Cooper said of Crosby’s apparent right knee injury, sustained yesterday in the 4-3 overtime quarterfinal victory over Czechia. “We're taking this day-by-day, and we're not going to put anybody in harm's way. But if he can play, he's definitely going to. We’ll know more again in 24 hours.”
International rules requires teams to stitch the ‘C’ on another sweater if the usual captain can’t play. Cooper declined to address who that might be for Canada, saying he’d prefer to wait to see if Crosby can play.
