The Nailers lost in a shootout for only the second time this season, falling 3-2 to the Indy Fuel on Friday. Zach Urdahl scored the lone shootout goal for Wheeling, while Taylor Gauthier stopped one of three Fuel attempts.
Gauthier finished with 29 saves on 31 shots, including on a penalty shot in overtime. Matty De St. Phalle and Logan Pietila scored the goals.
