• Rust on practicing three-on-three situations and shootouts: “Shootouts can be worked on. Three-on-three, I don’t think we’re doing anything wrong. Obviously, we’d like to score more goals in three-on-three and win the game and not go to the shootout. Obviously, we can always be better. But this fell into a time (of the schedule) where we have an opportunity to work on some things. With a condensed schedule this year, it’s hard to work on everything. We’ve had some practice time and that’s just what we were doing.”
• Dan Muse said that Jarry not skating today was part of the plan. He's status quo along with Rickard Rakell, Noel Acciari and JustinBrazeau.
• Plenty of practice involving three-on-three opportunities and the shootout here today.
• Doesn't appear to be any changes to lines or pairings compared to yesterday. Tomasino still rotated in with that fourth line:
Connor Dewar - Sidney Crosby - Bryan Rust Kevin Hayes - Evgeni Malkin - Anthony Mantha Tommy Novak - Ben Kindel - Sam Poulin Joona Koppanen - Blake Lizotte - Danton Heinen/Philip Tomasino
Parker Wotherspoon - Erik Karlsson Ryan Shea - Kris Letang Ryan Graves - Connor Clifton Matt Dumba - Harrison Brunicke
• Now that the full team has assembled on one sheet of ice, there is one absence: TristanJarry. He's practiced the last few days, despite being on injured reserve, but ArtursSilovs and SergeiMurashov are practicing, of course. They should both get starts with the Penguins playing back-to-back games over the next two days.
• Looks like everyone is present for practice, which starts out with a handful of guys out here on the main rink and others trickling over to the other side.
• PhilipTomasino is suited up for practice after clearing waivers yesterday.
