Joel Blomqvist and Valtteri Puustinen celebrated Finland's Independence Day on Saturday by earning the first two stars in Wilkes-Barre/Scranton's 4-1 win over the Bears in Hershey, Pa.
Blomqvist was name the No.1. star after stopping 27 of 28 shots, and Puustinen was the No. 2 star for scoring the Penguins' first two goals -- his third and fourth of the season.
• Gabe Klassen scored his third of the year, and Aidan McDonough his fifth on the power play.
• Phil Tomasino had the primary assists on Puustinen's goals.
• Danton Heinen had a pair of secondary assists.
• This game marked the end of the conditioning stints for Jack St. Ivany and Harrison Brunicke. St. Ivany had a goal, four assists, six shots and a plus-3 rating in his five games, and Brunicke had three assists, 13 shots and a plus-2 rating in his five games.
• Wilkes-Barre improves to 17-5-1, two points behind Grand Rapids for first in the AHL.
