Egor Chinakhov's goal in Tuesday's 6-2 loss to the Avalanche was his 17th of the season, setting a new personal career high for himself.
Chinakhov's previous high of 16 goals was set in 53 games in the 2023-24 season with Columbus. He had three goals in 29 games with Columbus to start this season, and 14 goals in 33 games after the trade.
Chinakhov's rate of scoring with the Penguins after the trade would have him on a 34-35 goal pace in an 82-game season. Assuming he's re-signed -- and he's made clear his wish to return -- this new career high might get shattered next season after he gets a full season with the Penguins.
