Sidney Crosby wasn't the only one to move up the Penguins' all-time scoring list in Sunday's 4-3 shootout win over the Canadiens.
Rust's primary assist on Rickard Rakell's goal -- the same goal that Crosby had the secondary assist on for the record -- was his 466th career point, tying Jake Guentzel for the 11th-most points in franchise history. Guentzel did it in 503 games, Rust did it in 671.
Obviously, the Penguins made a big deal of Crosby's record during the first period, showing the graphic multiple times on the videoboard, airing a video, showing him on camera a number of times. But in the second period, the camera showed Rust on the bench alongside a little graphic celebrating his own accomplishment. He looked up and caught it, and he had this bewildered look on his face, like he couldn't believe they were making a big deal about that after Crosby got the big one.
If Rust is going to crack the top 10, next up on the list is Syl Apps Jr. at 500 points.
