The Rangers re-signed Chad Ruhwedel to a one-year, two-way contract worth the league-minimum at the NHL level. The Penguins had traded Ruhwedel to the Rangers for a fourth-round pick at the trade deadline, and he was scoreless with a minus-2 rating in five games for the rest of the season. He was otherwise a healthy scratch, and was a healthy scratch for the duration of the playoffs.
Mildly interesting that he didn't get a one-way. Two-way vs. one-way has no bearing on where guy can or will play and only impacts what a guy gets paid if in the minors. Oftentimes guys like Ruhwedel who have that much NHL experience can swing a one-way so even if they do get sent down, their pay isn't impacted. He might just have really wanted to stay in New York.
