• Oh, my! Geno's robbed not once but twice by Shesterkin in the final seconds of overtime. We're unfortunatly going to a shootout. But hey, it's a point.
• Brutal OT for the visitors so far. Yikes.
• To OT we go.
• Less than three now. Nice bounceback for the Penguins. Have their footing again.
• Letang's back. But now Brazeau's just been hobbled by a shot to the leg.
• New line: Kindel between Rakell and Rust. Makes sense on multiple fronts.
• Letang appears to have hurt his right hand. Really favoring it as he heads off.
• GOAL. Raddysh with the tap-in from Gavrikov. Another awful shift for the Kindel line AND Letang. Stuck forever. Other assist: Brisson. Time: 2:57, third period. Tie, 2-2
• Another Girard giveaway, another New York chance.
• Third period's underway.
• That's period. The home team woke up to a degree in the last 10 minutes. Shots are 23-13 for the Penguins, and they've still got most advantages. More forecheck would come in handy. The New York defensemen look like they'd fold in a split-second if that were to occur.
• Geno gets away with a flagrant -- and I mean FLAGRANT -- elbow to the face of Borgan.
• Novak's stopped on a partial break. He's had chances.
• Girard with an ugly giveaway hands the Rangers all kinds of offense. Skinner bails him out. I'm not impressed with this guy at all so far.
• GOAL. Zibanejad one-timer below hashes. Power play. Assists: Trocheck, Miller. Time: 10:00, second period. Penguins, 2-1
• Rakell holds Cuylle right in front. He'll sit.
• More quality from the Geno line. Shoulder stop by Shesterkin on Chinakhov.
• Actual good shift for the Rangers. Their first. Skinner with a sharp save to finish it.
• INTENTIONAL OFFSIDE, YOU GUYS!
• A smattering of 'FIRE DRU-RY!' chants in here. Way, way below Matt Canada level. Embarrassing, really.
• GOAL. Shea spins atop the zone, whips one to the net, and beats Shesterkin through the screen. Assists: Clifton, Acciari. Time: 1:59, second period. Penguins, 2-0
• Second period underway.
• Teams back out. Kindel, too. He's fine.
• That's period. Shots were 10-2, shot attempts 23-12 for the visitors.
• Lots of chances for PP2. Nothing doing.
• Novak's set up by Kindel, point-blank, and stopped.
• Rust draws a Gavrikov hold. That line's been really good, unlike Thursday.
• Lizotte's off for ... honestly, he didn't really do anything. Crowd called that one. Ref put his arm up crazy late, plus he was out of the zone. Whatever.
• Geno takes something to the mouth. Not sure what. Rattled him for a bit.
• Rust clangs one off the inside of the right post. Not his period.
• Really healthy pace for the visitors here. The ridiculous call notwithstanding, this is going about as well as anyone could've hoped.
• What actually happened was that Shesterkin (smartly) used his left skate to push off Mantha's skate to try to make the save on Rust. It's insane that a roomful of alleged hockey people couldn't recognize that.
• Oh. My. God. They called that goaltender interference. I can't. I just can't.
• Rust appears to score on a power play, but Sullivan's challenging. No way he'll win this. Mantha did nothing wrong. Outside the blue.
• GOAL. Mantha tip from Karlsson at center point. Power play. Really well executed. Other assist: Rust. Time: 2:08, first period. Penguins, 1-0
• Hayes runs into Shesterkin. I felt like he could've avoided that. Refs penalize New York.
• FACEOFF: Penguins vs. Rangers, Novak vs. Trocheck, 12:38 p.m.
• No ceremonies, by the way. The Rangers got theirs out of the way already.
• Official: Girard's in, Ilya Solovyov's out. Lineups below are both correct.
• Warmups underway. Girard's on the ice. Looks like he'll play.
• Dan Muse's expected lines and pairings, based on practice yesterday in Cranberry, Pa.:
