Taylor Gauthier returned from Team Canada in the Spengler Cup on Friday and stopped 30 of 32 shots in the Nailers' 3-2 win over the Worcester Railers. The win was his 53rd career win for the Nailers, now seven from tying and eight from surpassing Andy Franck for the Nailers' all-time wins record.

• Emil Pieniniemi has now played in two games since reporting to Wheeling. He was scoreless and a minus-1 with two shots on goal on Wednesday, and scoreless and a plus-1 with one shot on goal tonight. He took a hooking penalty in the third.
• Wheeling is atop the ECHL standings with a 21-7-1 record.
