The Penguins signed forward Oliver Okuliar to a one-year, two-way contract worth $850,000 at the NHL level on Monday, two days after they acquired him from the Panthers in exchange for Emil Pieniniemi.
Okuliar, 26, had an active SHL contract with Skelleftea that he needed to be released from in order to sign the contract. He'll move back to North America next season and will presumably start the year in Wilkes-Barre/Scranton.
