Sidney Crosby and Bryan Rust crash the crease of the Flyers' Dan Vladar in the third period.
The Flyers are moving on to face the Hurricanes after defeating the Penguins, 1-0, in Game 6 here at Xfinity Mobile Arena. Reaction from the Philadelphia room:
Dan Vladar: "There was never a doubt. I think I can speak for the whole locker room, there was never a doubt. If somebody had a doubt, it's their problem. It's not us. We all believe that we can do it, and for me nothing was changing. I cannot try to stop the puck harder. I can still continue to do the same thing, still being positive and be a good person because I feel like good things happen to good people and we are good people in here, so we deserve this."
Cam York: "Yeah, I mean, you saw in overtime, it was just so back and forth. Grade A chances kind of both ways, and, it just felt like nothing was gonna get past (Vladar). I think we all felt that and we knew that we just needed one decent look and we were able to capitalize. He was unbelievable for us tonight. Just so many Grade A chances that they had that he just stood tall for us. I can't say enough about him."
Rick Tocchet: "How do you not love the guy? I mean, he's like, 'Oh, I should have had this goal,' and he's blaming himself for last week. That's not his fault. That's what he does. He's taking the bullet for some guys, the team and taking the bullet for me. You love the guy, and he puts that kind of effort. He's been great all series. He's been great all year, but he was phenomenal tonight for us."
Sean Couturier: "Yeah, it's nice. Obviously it's a big rivalry, so yeah, it's nice. But any win, any time you advance to the next round, I think that it's fun. And at the same time, we can't be satisfied here. We've got a lot of work to do. It's gonna be a tough series next one."
