The preliminary round of the World Junior Championship wrapped up on Wednesday with Canada winning Group B and the U.S. finishing second in Group A.
Canada defeated Finland 7-4 in its final game of the preliminary round. Harrison Brunicke was scoreless with two shots on goal and an even plus/minus.
The U.S. lost 6-3 to Sweden. Will Horcoff was scoreless, a minus-1 with one shot on goal.
Canada will play Slovakia in Friday's quarterfinals, while the U.S. will play Finland.
