Phil Tomasino and Rutger McGroarty each had a goal and two assists in Wilkes-Barre/Scranton's 6-3 win over the Bears in Hershey, Pa.. on Wednesday.
Tomasino centered the top line in the game, his Wilkes-Barre debut after being waived last week. He scored a power play goal in the third period and had a pair of primary assists in the first. He got into a fight in the third period, giving him a Gordie Howe Hat Trick. McGroarty played in his third game since returning from injury and now has three goals in three games.
• Boko Imama opened the scoring with a penalty-shot goal, and got into a fight on the faceoff that came after. He was an assist shy of the Gordie Howe Hat Trick.
• Avery Hayes scored twice, his fourth and fifth goals of the year, the latter an empty-netter.
• Jack St. Ivany made his season debut and assisted on Hayes' second goal.
• Sam Poulin played after being re-assigned from Pittsburgh yesterday, and scored his team-leading eighth goal in the final minute, another empty-netter.
• Harrison Brunicke was scoreless with four shots on goal and an even plus/minus in his first AHL game of the season.
• Joel Blomqvist stopped 30 of 33 shots and had the lone assist on Poulin's goal.
• Captain Phil Kemp got into a fight in the second period.
