In addition to Blake Lizotte's return appearing imminent, some positive news on the injury front came out of the Penguins' practice on Saturday.
Caleb Jones skated on his own on Saturday for the first time since suffering a lower-body injury on Oct. 23 when he was slew-footed by Brad Marchand in Sunrise, Fla. The timeline given then was eight weeks, which would have had him back around Dec. 18, which of course has already passed, but Dan Muse suggested there hasn't been a setback in his recovery.
Evgeni Malkin again skated on his own prior to practice, but Muse said he remains "status quo, nothing new to report there."
