Rickard Rakell admitted on Sunday that Sweden didn't "live up to expectations" at the Olympics, and that it's going to take "a lot of time to digest" their elimination in the quarterfinals after a loss to the U.S. in Milan. But despite the disappointment, he'll be "forever thankful" for the experience.
"You don't know how many chances you're going to get to do it," he said. "I'll just try to soak it all in. I guess that's maybe why it feels like it feels right now. But I think over time, I'll look back at this as one of my best experiences as a hockey player."
Rakell called it "overall, a really cool experience" getting to be around other Olympic hockey players, speed skaters and figure skaters in their village, and getting to experience the whole atmosphere in Milan, but "at the end of the day right now, it just stinks a little bit with how it all ended."
