The Penguins signed their first pair of contract extensions of the offseason on Thursday, inking Connor Dewar to a two-year deal with an average annual value of $2.25 million, and Ilya Solovyov to a one-year deal with a value of $850,000. Both players were scheduled to be unrestricted free agents in July.
Dewar's deal is a raise on his previous contract that carried a $1.1 million cap hit, while Solovyov's deal gets a modest bump from the previous league minimum of $775,000 to the new minimum.
The remaining pending unrestricted free agents from the NHL roster are Evgeni Malkin, Kevin Hayes, Anthony Mantha, Noel Acciari, Connor Clifton, Ryan Shea and Stuart Skinner. The two restricted free agents are Egor Chinakhov and Arturs Silovs.
