With just one day remaining before the NCAA men's basketball portal closes, the Nittany Lions secured their third commit, with Latvian shooting guard Roberts Blums transferring from Davidson after two seasons. Blums, a junior, averaged 12.4 points, 3.4 rebounds and 1.1 assists last season for the Wildcats, playing 22.3 minutes per game. He shot 45.6 percent from the field, 40.7 percent from beyond the arc.
Blums, a three-star, joins junior four-star strong forward Brant Byers, a Miami (Ohio) transfer, and three-star Central Connecticut State point guard Jay Rodgers as the only transfer commits to date.
Byers averaged 11.3 points and 3.5 rebounds in 24.2 minutes per game last season. Rodgers, a grad transfer, led the NEC with 6.9 assists per game as a senior, averaging 11 points and 2.3 rebounds per game over 29.3 minutes.
Five Nittany Lions remain in the portal: strong forward Eli Rice; combo guard Dominick Stewart; shooting guard Melih Tunca; center Justin Houser; power forward Tibor Mirtic.
