Penn State offensive lineman Olaivavega Ioane was selected 14th overall by the Baltimore Ravens in the first round of the 2026 NFL Draft on Thursday night.
Ioane became Penn State’s 45th first round pick in program history and its fourth guard selected in the first round, following Mike Munchak (8th overall, Houston Oilers, 1982), Sean Farrell (17th overall, Tampa Bay, 1982) and Jeff Hartings (23rd overall, Detroit, 1996). Ioane is the eighth PSU offensive lineman to be selected in the first round and its first since Olumuyiwa Fashanu (11th overall, New York Jets, 2024).
He is Penn State’s ninth offensive lineman selected since 2016.
He is the eighth Nittany Lion selected by the Ravens and joins Odafe Oweh (31st overall, 2021) among first round selections by the Ravens.
With Ioane’s first round selection, Penn State is one of three schools that has had a player selected among the first three rounds of the NFL Draft in 21-straight years, joining LSU and USC.
A total of 396 Nittany Lions have been selected all-time in the NFL Draft, which ranks seventh among Division I institutions. Since 2016, Penn State has had 60 players selected, including 27 taken on the first two days of the draft.
Penn State is also one of three schools to produce at least five picks in each of the last eight NFL Drafts.
