The Pirates' 2025 second-round pick in the MLB Draft, Angel Cervantes, who had a slot value of $1.9 million, just posted on social media that he’s staying home and opting to play at UCLA instead of turning pro. He could change his mind before the 5 p.m. deadline Monday.
If this holds, the Pirates will receive the 51st pick in next year's draft as compensation.
