The Pirates have reassigned Konnor Griffin to minor league camp at Pirate City. There are now 34 players in major-league camp.
Griffin is the top prospect in baseball and lasted until just a couple days before spring training wraps up and a week before the club heads north to take on the Mets on opening day next Thursday. However, today's move means Griffin won't be one of the 26 players that take the field in New York.
Griffin hit .171 with a .749 OPS, four home runs and nine RBIs in 16 games this spring.
