Lost in Konnor Griffin's debut week with the Greensboro Grasshoppers, Esmerlyn Valdez continues to put together a strong season.

He continues to lead the system in home runs and has also gotten his strikeout rate down to the low-20s. 

Last week, against the Rome Emperors, Valdez led the team with 13 hits, six of which went for extra bases. That included his 16th home run of the season. He also walked (5) more than he struck out (3), and also stole two bases.

For the season, Valdez is hitting .310/.396/.591 with 16 home runs, 15 doubles, and 45 RBI.  With Valdez, Griffin, and Javier Rivas, the Grasshoppers have the top three home run hitters in the Pirates' system currently.
