After missing most of the first month of the season, Will Taylor is starting to hit his stride. In six games this past week, he led the Pirates' minor leagues with 12 hits.
Of those 12 hits, three were doubles, and another two were home runs. Taylor drove in seven runs and stole two bases, while slashing .462/.481/.808.
A fifth-round pick out of Clemson, Taylor played some football as well while in college, before finally settling in on baseball. At 22, he's showing he has little left to prove at Single-A, hitting .341/.426/.537 in 24 games played this year. He has eight doubles and has stolen seven bases.
Taylor is a solid defender with some good speed, and while he won't hit for a lot of power, he has some great bat-to-ball skills.
