• Keller really cruising right now. Has been nibbling around the zone. Had a few big misses to Witt before coming back into the zone to get a flyout.
• One groundout and two flyouts for the Pirates as they go down 1-2-3. Both teams have three hits and are 0 for 2 with runners in scoring position.
• End of fifth inning: Keller falls behind 3-1, dots a fastball up-and-away and then changes Isbel's eye level with a down-and-in fastball on the inside edge for strike three. Nice sequence.
• Keller throws three pitches and gets two outs. He's worked efficiently since giving up that home run.
• Not sure what the thought process was there. Davis doubled down the left field corner and then tried to steal third on the first pitch to IKF and was thrown out.
• End of fourth inning: Keller really starting to settle in as he's retired nine straight. He did this during his last start at PNC Park as well. He struggled early and then really settled in.
• HOME RUN: Holy cow. Cruz gives a Home Run Derby preview by launching an inside curveball 458 feet. It landed on the concourse above the fountains. Tied, 1-1
• Reynolds tried to hold up on a curveball in the dirt, but third-base umpire Brian O'Nora said he went and Reynolds was not happy about it.
• End of third inning: Keller strikes out the side as he gets Pasquantino to chase on a high fastball. He did it on 14 pitches and has retired six straight.
• Pham looks at an up-and-away curveball for strike three. It was indeed a strike. The Pirates have struck out three times, all of them have been looking.
• Horwitz strokes one to right and it just seemed to die once it got in the air. I for sure thought it was going to carry a little further.
• End of second inning: Keller makes one mistake before setting down the next three hitters. He's thrown 32 pitches through two innings.
• HOME RUN: Keller hangs a changeup and Caglianone makes him pay for it as he sends one 421 feet into the right field seats. An absolute no-doubter. Royals, 1-0
• Pirates go down in order. Suwinski and Cruz both struck out looking while Hayes grounded out to third.
