Prospect Monday: Florentino flashes power for Marauders
Edward Florentino is over three years younger than the average competition in the Florida State League, but that hasn't stopped him from showing off his potential this past week against Fort Myers.
In six games, Florentino hit .348/.400/.870 while hitting three doubles, three home runs, and stealing three bases.
He kicked the week off with a bang, going 3-3 with a double, a home run, and a walk. Florentino also had multi-hit efforts on the Fourth of July and on Sunday, where he hit a pair of home runs.
After a bit of an initial adjustment period, Florentino is hitting well for the Marauders and was plugged immediately into the middle of the lineup. In 14 games with the Marauders, he has hit .286/.357/.592 with six doubles, three home runs, nine RBI, and six stolen bases.
