• Brandon Lowe isn't the biggest guy on the field, but the amount of power he's able to generate for a 5-foot-10 infielder is rather impressive. In watching him hit for the first time up close today, it's evident that he creates a strong, consistent bat path with his left elbow at his side and generates good power with his back half. It's a rather simple approach, and it works for him. He was making hard contact to all fields today and even sent one out -- seemingly effortlessly, mind you -- the opposite way to left-center field. Went beyond the 380 sign.
• DonKelly is everywhere during these workouts. Running around to different fields, but also intently observing what’s going on and having conversations with guys around him, whether it be coaches or players. His actions, in addition to his words, show how invested he is in this.
• It’s neat to see how guys are battling in certain situations during live BPs. Caught the tail end of Ryan O’Hearn’s session against CamSanders. Fought against a 3-2 pitch and sent it the other way for what likely would have landed in for a single. Wasn't his best swing, but it resulted in an at-bat that is valuable now and would carry even more value in a game situation.
