• I know it’s just batting practice that we’re watching here on a daily basis, but it’s quite impressive getting to watch Konnor Griffin take part in it. DonKelly described it today as "really loud." His swing looks so effortless, yet carries so much power. He took BP on field No. 1 today and hit two balls off the roof of the batting cages in left. Power to all fields, too. Crazy to think he’s only going to get better, especially with his work ethic.
• MarcellOzuna put on a power display, too, hitting at least one car in the parking lot beyond field No. 4. Last year wasn't his best by any means, but the power's still there, and the Pirates need a good bit of that after ranking dead last in Major League Baseball with 117 home runs last season.
• It's always neat to see guys interacting with each other and sharing feedback after live BP sessions. Observed an interaction between BryanReynolds and AntwoneKelly today after they faced one another, and I'd imagine Kelly was a sponge soaking up information. Something he'll take with him to the upcoming World Baseball Classic where he'll play for the Netherlands, and beyond that to the minor-league season.
