MitchKeller delivered his fourth consecutive quality start and OneilCruz came through with the eventual game-winning triple in the seventh inning of the Pirates' 2-1 win over the Brewers today at PNC Park.
Keller, who has allowed three or fewer runs in all but two of his 11 starts this season, allowed one run on seven hits, didn't walk a batter and struck out seven over six innings. The Brewers got their only run in the second off a two-out RBI single by CalebDurbin.
"Mitch has done a good job just in controlling what he can," Don Kelly said. "Going out there, dominating the zone, getting ahead of guys, throwing strikes and keeping the other team off the board, which is what we need him to do. Didn’t score six today, but got enough to get the win and we’re pumped about that."
The Pirates also scored in the first on SpencerHorwitz's RBI double.
