Baseball: Irizarry tabbed as Collegiate Summer League All-Star
Rising sophomore JulianIrizarry was tabbed as a starter for the 2025 Florida Collegiate Summer League All-Star Game.
The FCSL All-Star Game will take place tomorrow at Sanford Memorial Stadium in Sanford, FL. The FCSL Home Run Derby will kick off all-star festivities at 6 p.m. tomorrow with the All-Star Game to follow.
Irizarry is one of seven players representing his Leesburg Lightning squad. As a freshman last spring, Irizarry made 11 starts in his 21 games played. The Pembroke Pines, Fla. native hit .311 with 14 hits, six RBIs and six runs scored in his first taste of Division-I baseball. In addition to his success at the plate, Irizarry proved to be a savant in right field as a young player. He saved numerous runs with his stellar play in the outfield. Irizarry did not commit a single error in right field while adding an outfield assist on a double play to his ledger as well.
Irizarry's Pitt and Leesburg teammate, Antonio "TJ" Socarras, was named as an All-Star Alternate and will compete in the home run derby.
