Football: Four-star running back Ferguson commits to Pitt
Pitt has added four-star running back DamonFerguson to its 2026 recruiting class. Ferguson, a 5-foot-11, 190-pound product out of Milford mill Academy in Baltimore, Md., announced his commitment on X this morning.
Ferguson received an offer from Pitt in July 2024 and, after going on his official visit late last week, chose to play for PatNarduzzi and the Panthers over the likes of Indiana, Minnesota, Virginia and Michigan State. Ferguson had already gone on his official visits to Indiana and Minnesota and had visits with Virginia and Michigan State lined up for this next week. In total, he received 42 offers from college programs.
Ferguson took a big step from his sophomore year of high school to his junior year. This past season, he carried the ball 105 times for 1,341 yards and 16 touchdowns in nine games. He averaged 149 yards per game and just under 13 yards per carry. He rushed for 100-plus yards on seven occasions.
During his sophomore season, Ferguson finished with 73 carries for 725 yards and eight touchdown.
Ferguson is the 10th player to commit to Pitt this weekend alone. He is the 15th member to join the Panthers’ 2026 class. Among the other players who committed were four-star wide receiver Jaydon Dunbar and three WPIAL products in defensive tackle Lincoln Hoke (North Allegheny), offensive lineman John Curran (Pine Richland) and defensive end Reston Lehman (Peters Township).
