The Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) today announced Pitt men's basketball's 2026-27 conference opponents as the league enters year two of its 18-game conference schedule. The Panthers' slate features games at the Petersen Events Center against North Carolina, Syracuse, Virginia, Miami, Virginia Tech, Clemson, Boston College, Georgia Tech, and California.
Pitt will also make road trips to Duke, Louisville, NC State, Notre Dame, Wake Forest, SMU, Florida State, Syracuse, and Miami. The Panthers will not face Stanford during the 2026-27 regular season.
The home slate sets up a marquee stretch at the Petersen Events Center, where the Panthers will welcome North Carolina, Virginia, and Miami alongside the renewal of Pitt's annual rivalry with Syracuse. The series with Virginia Tech is also back on the schedule after the two programs did not meet in 2025-26.
Under the conference's scheduling model, each program is paired with one permanent home-and-away opponent and one rotating home-and-away matchup that changes each year. Syracuse — one of Pitt's most-played opponents, with a series dating to 1914 and at least one meeting in every season since 1982-83 — serves as the Panthers' permanent partner. Miami is the rotating home-and-away matchup for 2026-27.
Game dates, times, and television designations for all 18 ACC contests will be announced in September.
The ACC moved to an 18-game format beginning with the 2025-26 season. The conference previously played 18-game schedules from 2012-13 through 2018-19 and conducted 20-game slates from 2019-20 through 2024-25.
The Panthers enter year nine under head coach Jeff Capel, who has retooled the roster over the offseason with a highly touted class of incoming freshmen and transfer additions. Pitt will also compete in the 2026 Fort Myers Tip-Off as part of its non-conference slate, as announced last week. The full non-conference schedule will be released at a later date.
