I did remark on the Post-Gazette's pending closure back when that was announced, so it feels right to remark on the newspaper's apparent rescue/conversion into a nonprofit. But I'll instead hold off since no part of the announcement yesterday offer so much as a hint as to retention of staff, other than that the new owners are sure it'll shrink, so it's impossible to process what might come of this.
It doesn't affect us, but I've got a few friends still over there, and I'm hoping for the best. Plus, it'd obviously be welcome for the city to sustain a journalistic watchdog.
