The Boss in her natural habitat during the NFL Draft, Downtown.
The NFL Draft drew 805,000 football fans to its official areas on the North Shore and Downtown, setting a league record, and the event set records at our little location, too.
Our total sales for April were 10.48 times the amount from the same month the previous year, and they were 1.71 times our previous all-time record month since opening the HQ/shop back in 2022. The previous record was set in October 2025. And this, to repeat for emphasis, was nearly double that.
Not to mention, we had a record month for multimedia views/listens, a lot of which occurred right there on the spot, we had about a billion people see our brand on the big sign on Fifth Avenue since that was part of everyone's march to Point State Park, we were able to meet and greet so many of those, and we even signed up a few new subscribers to this app/site (though that figure still finished at a minus-10 for the month, the only mini-bummer).
So yeah, it went well. Like, crazy well.
Thanks to absolutely everyone who came, who bought and, above all, who helped, notably Dara for flying home from New York for this, and the inimitable Lisa7 -- that's her moniker in comments -- a subscriber who amazingly offered to volunteer with retail help and was there along with us day and night!
Oh, and to the Zone 2 Pittsburgh Police, who, in addition to keeping everyone here as safe as we always are in the Golden Triangle, showed up as a big group one of those days to do all their NFL Draft purchasing with us rather than at one of the NFL's tents elsewhere!
What an experience!
Which leads me to ...
DISCOUNTED, FREE SHIPPING!
We'd promised before the NFL Draft that we'd begin shipping any NFL Draft merch we'd have left over, and here we are: We have sweatshirts, caps and more in our ONLINE SHOP, the stuff's discounted, and the shipping's FREE!
But hurry, and we mean that!
BASEBALL STATS! WOO!
They're not 100% done, and I'm afraid even subscribers will see ads upon opening, but our new baseball statistics, standings, schedule and boxscores can be seen right here!
INSIDE THE WORKS
• Friday Insider and the Live Qs both will return next week. Appreciate everyone's patience as we tried to get through a challenging stretch.
• Yes also, Greg Macafee's still with us, but he just landed a teaching job for which he'd applied before returning. We knew this was a possibility. You'll still see his work here.
• It's now easier to copy the link to a feed entry. Tap the triple-dots to the right, then 'copy link.'
• Travelogue: José Negron will have the Pirates' trip next week to Phoenix and San Francisco.
• A reminder I'll be making a lot: A subscription to this app/site covers only that. It doesn't apply to any memberships we offer on YouTube. And the same is true, obviously, in reverse. The reason: The commerce platforms have nothing in common.
• Feel free to add a review of any aspect of our business on our Google business listing, or on our Appleand Spotify podcast channels. Makes a real difference.
BACK TO BUSINESS
• Our page-view numbers for our most recent full seven-day span, April 24-30, were 1,107,843. Our most-read original piece was my column on the Steelers drafting Max Iheanachor out of Arizona State, at 24,943.
• Our video views, also for April 24-30, were an all-time high 414,066. Our most-watched program was my Daily Shot of Steelers on drafting Iheanachor, at 19,102, followed very closely by Matt Williamson'sScout's Eye after our man nailed that pick in advance, at 18,149.
