Absolutely everything about our Subscriber Snaps feature has surprised me from the beginning, but I'd been joking for a while that we wouldn't truly have made it until we got one from the bottom of the world ... and along comes longtime reader Kimon Andreos with a shot of him and our app from that very place!
No, really ...

KIMON ANDREOS / FOR DKPS
We're blessed beyond words to have watched this community expand to 152 countries, but it's so very different seeing that through digits on Google Analytics and like this!
Thank you so much!
• Mike McCarthy's introductory press conference is today, 2 p.m., at Acrisure Stadium and, out of respect, I'll shut up about football until hearing what the man has to say.
• Well, except for this: Pay extra attention to every mention of Will Howard. Clues could be vital.
• And this: Shedeur Sanders to the Pro Bowl? Hm. One might never guess which outlet broke that story. Hint: Same one that manufactured it from complete scratch.
• I'm expecting the Penguins will be without Bryan Rust for their next game Thursday against the Blackhawks, as I'm also expecting Rust will be suspended by the NHL today for an elbow to the head of Brock Boeser over the weekend in Vancouver, B.C.
Not that I think Rust, among the cleanest players in the sport, did anything maliciously. Nor even that I think it was Rust who did the damage, given that Boeser also was banged from behind by Rickard Rakell in that last-second scrap near the Pittsburgh crease.
Rather, I'm familiar with the NHL's hilariously named Department of Player Safety's history of doling out punishment commensurate with the degree to which the aggrieved party's hurt. And Boeser, who's been plagued by concussions, was just placed on IR by the Canucks.
That'll be all it takes. One game.
• It's not just that the Penguins already have seven forwards into double-digit goals, with Ben Kindel scoring his ninth and 10th in Vancouver. It's that Rickard Rakell and Tommy Novak have nine each, Egor Chinakhov eight, and they'll all join the club soon. Double-digit forwards in double-digit goals is insane balance at this stage of the season. The Hurricanes lead the NHL with nine right now.
• Extending Evgeni Malkin's an epic no-brainer for all concerned, and I'm sure it'll be done around the Olympic break, per hints Kyle Dubas has previously dropped for when he and Geno will meet to discuss his future.
But I'll take Connor Dewar, too ... and Stuart Skinner?
Just throwing the latter out there. Dude's 27. Unrestricted free agent.
• Other teams in the Metro I take seriously: Hurricanes and Islanders. That's it. That's the list.
• No matter which way one feels about Andrew McCutchen's future, there's no room for debate that the Pirates have bungled this scenario spectacularly from the public standpoint. It's almost as if they didn't see it coming, for crying out loud.
• My friendly advice to solve it: Fire Ben Cherington.
