• GOAL. Empty-netter for Connor. Just like his last one. Jets, 5-2
• Jon Hamm's here. He's the best to ever play the 'Don Draper' character.
• Relentless push from the Penguins. Pretty much the whole third period. Impressive in its own right.
• By the way, Lizotte committed only about 10 times the goaltender interference on his goal there than Brazeau did the other night in St. Paul. Just saying.
• GOAL: Lizotte spins back to the net, Comrie knocks it into the goal. Jets, 4-2
• End second period. Shots are 22-20 for Pittsburgh.
• GOAL. Wow, that power play. Sid redirect from Karlsson. Their movement's just so special. Even when they don't convert. Jets, 4-1
• Talking to the Winnipeg writers up here, there's a thought that you can't call awarded goal unless the goaltender's actually off the ice. As opposed to, you know, out of his mind.
• GOAL. Connor makes it moot. Easy W on the backhand. Jets, 4-0
• Silovs ... my God. Penalty shot. Should've been an awarded goal.
• Actual power play.
• Jets redirect one off the bar behind Silovs. Barron bowls Silovs over looking for a loose puck. No call. No goal, either.
• Well, the entire Core's gotten minors so far. Now Letang. So there's that.
• GOAL. Namestnikov. Really rough homecoming so far for poor Pickering. Tried to cut off Toews all the way back at the Winnipeg blue line, lost his footing and ... yeah. Jets, 3-0
• Stating the blatantly obvious here, but it'd behoove the visitors to get one behind Comrie soon. That'd alter the complexion of the entire event, including from the Winnipeg perspective, since the Penguins have been the better team for the past 15-plus minutes, anyway.
• End first period. Shots were 10-8 for Pittsburgh. Don't make me say it again.
• Terrific wrap try for Geno. Comrie's equal to it.
• Geno's off for an offensive-zone slash. It's the right all, but Stanley had given him a two-hander across the back that went unpenalized.
• Man alive, Karlsson's playing at a superhuman level.
• More and more and more quality work -- and chances -- for the visitors. I mean, if not for how this opened, this would be something. But just can't keep giving up casual rebounds like that. I swear, this guy almost looks like he's putting the puck out there on purpose. Like it's a practice drill or something.
• Good chance there for Lizotte.
• Geno's just flying.
• That's a much-needed kill. Not sure how much it'll matter without goaltending, but hey.
• Now Sid's off for a hook.
• GOAL. Yikes, man. Silovs again from below the goal line. Not sure I've ever seen a team look so threatening from there. Not the greatest marking out front, but still. Jets, 2-0
• GOAL. Silovs with his first ugly rebound results in an ugly first goal. Gruesome, really. Vilardi gets it from behind the net. Assists, Scheifele, Morrissey. Time: :15, first period. Jets, 1-0
