The Steelers are today hosting Penn State quarterback Drew Allar for a pre-draft visit at the UPMC Rooney Sports Complex. The team also brought in Arizona defensive back Treydan Stukes. These two players wrap up the pre-draft visit process for the Steelers.
Allar does not count as a local visit. Penn State players do not count as local visits, unless they previously played their high school football in the Pittsburgh area.
Allar is the fourth quarterback the Steelers have hosted throughout the pre-draft visit process, along with Miami (FL)'s Carson Beck, North Dakota State's Cole Payton and Arkansas' Taylen Green.
The Steelers had a formal meeting with Allar at the NFL Scouting Combine in Indianapolis. I reported at the time, per sources, that meeting with Allar went very well on the Steelers' side of things. Bringing Allar in for a pre-draft visit, as well, may indicate how highly the team thinks of him.
Stukes is a Day 2 option for the secondary. He's played a variety of spots, but profiles as a hybrid slot defender. He has decent size at 6-1 and 190 pounds, and he ran a blazing 4.33 40-yard dash at the NFL Scouting Combine. He was a sixth-year senior and unquestioned leader on Arizona's defense. He's of better use in zone coverage. He also has a torn ACL in his injury history (2024), but his football character really makes him an attractive choice on Day 2.
