The Steelers have signed defensive tackle Dean Lowry to a one-year contract. The team made the move official Tuesday afternoon.
To make room on the 90-man roster, the Steelers released Jahvaree Ritzie.
Lowry, 31, initially signed with the Steelers in 2024, playing 12 games while recording five tackles and one sack. He spent the entire 2025 season on injured reserve due to a torn ACL.
The Steelers had expressed interest in bringing Lowry back earlier this offseason, but he opted to not sign right away to get himself back into shape, according to NFL Network.
Lowry provides even more defensive line depth, adding to the expanding list of Cam Heyward, Derrick Harmon, Keeanu Benton, Sebastain Joseph-Day, Yahya Black, Esezi Otomewo and sixth-round pick Gabriel Rubio.
