The Eagles won their second Super Bowl, defeating the Chiefs by a score of 40-22. Despite the 18-point difference at game's end, it was never really a close game.
Philadelphia was the better team throughout the night. The Chiefs were surprisingly not fundamentally sound, made uncommon mistakes that either ruined their own drives or extended drives for the Eagles. While Jalen Hurts was named the game's most valuable player, Philadelphia's pass rush swarmed Patrick Mahomes all night long.
I'm going to have some words up tomorrow in reaction to this game, in terms of how this might relate to the Steelers. And, yeah, it hits much closer to home than you might think.
Until then, sleep off the excessive food and dream of the next Sunday with football, which won't come around for another seven months. And just because the 2024 season is over, it doesn't mean the football talk here stops. The Combine is coming up in just two weeks. This offseason is about to get up and running in a hurry.
