"I feel like I'm a plug-and-play guy," Spears-Jennings said via conference call. "You put me anywhere on the field. I can playin the box, I can play in the post, I can play back. It doesn't really matter to me."
Spears-Jennings can immediately come in and help out on special teams. He's fast and plays with an edge. That's on full display while playing in run support. With the depth the Steelers have at safety, especially those that can play in the box and closer to the line of scrimmage, special teams is his best bet toward a roster spot.
"I was an all-four guy for three of my years," Spear-Jennings said. "My senior year, I almost played punt, but besides that, I played all-four special teams. So, I mean, that's the coolest way to get on the bus. I'm willing to play it."
