The Steelers have signed Tyler Matakevich to a one-year contract and have released safety Jalen Elliott, bringing back their seventh-round pick from the 2016 NFL Draft after spending the past four seasons in Buffalo.
He was a special-teams regular with the Bills and has 64 special teams tackles in his career. He was also tied for the league lead in special teams tackles with 16 in his final season in Pittsburgh in 2019. In eight seasons, he has 47 tackles and an interception.
Elliott spent 2023 on the Steelers' practice squad, after which the team signed him to a reserves/future contact in January.
