While fans may be impatient for Aaron Rodgers to make a decision of whether or not to play a 22nd NFL season, his former coach and new Steelers head coach Mike McCarthy isn't one of them.
During a celebration of former Packers president Bob Harlan, McCarthy answered a question about Rodgers from emcee and sports broadcaster Kevin Harlan. And, it sure didn't sound like McCarthy is losing sleep over Rodgers' timetable.
"It'd be a great story," McCarthy said. "I don't know, and I would love to tell everybody breaking news, but it's really cool to see Aaron at 42. To see a young man at 22 and all of what he's been able to accomplish, and where he's at in his personal life and trying to make this decision. He's in a really good place."
I reported recently in one of our Friday Insider features that the Steelers have a soft line of demarcation for Rodgers, being the 2026 NFL Draft. That's when they really want to have this all wrapped up. The draft is in exactly one month, so it'll be interesting to see if Rodgers makes his decision by then.
