Aaron Rodgers after being sacked during the Steelers' win over the Bengals at Acrisure Stadium.
Aaron Rodgers injured his left wrist late in the second quarter of the Steelers' 34-12 win over the Bengals at Acrisure Stadium, after taking a hit on an incomplete pass to Kenneth Gainwell:
Rodgers stayed in for one more play after taking the hit. After that, he went straight to the locker room, skipping any visit to the blue medical tent on the sideline, most likely to be x-rayed right away.
Rodgers was initially questionable to return, but never did. Mason Rudolph came in at quarterback to start the third quarter and finished the game. Rodgers never even returned to the sideline.
Mike Tomlin said Rodgers will have his wrist evaluated on Monday morning. However, according to NFL Network, x-rays revealed a small fracture in his wrist. Though it's not believed to keep Rodgers out long term, his immediate prognosis is murky, at best.
The players have been given Monday off, so the next definitive news to come directly from the South Side will be at Tomlin's press conference on Tuesday.
In addition to Rodgers, the Steelers' injuries include:
• Ke'Shawn Williams is in the concussion protocol.
• Jaylen Warren sustained an ankle injury in the third quarter. He was able to return, though Gainwell played the majority of snaps after that.
