Dan Moore Jr. netted a huge four-year, $82 million contract from the Titans in free agency. That means the Titans believe he can be something more than what he showed in his four seasons with the Steelers.
Moore spoke with reporters in Nashville this week, talking about a number of topics. Among them was a response to a question that centered on Titans offensive line coach Bill Callahan saying how much Moore is benefitting from being a student of the game during Tennessee's voluntary offseason program:
"You definitely can. You can always learn. No matter how long you've been in this business, you're always learning something every day," Moore said. "Bill asks us at the end of each meeting, 'What'd you learn today?' For me, it may be the most simple things. He talked about coverages and stuff like that, and fronts on the first day. And I learned something that day. Like I said, you're always working to perfect your craft. I think that Bill has emphasized different things here than what I have had in the past."
If you didn't watch the video, do it. The way he says it is different than just reading it. That slight pause after different things here ...
And, it certainly begs the question of what wasn't emphasized in Pittsburgh for him. What -- or perhaps why -- wasn't something taught that made things click for him? Seldom is anything bad said about Pat Meyer on the South Side, so this comes as a pretty harsh criticism.
