JOHNSON: NOT MUCH CHANGES SCHEMATICALLY WITH TRUBISKY IN
Diontae Johnson spoke about preparing for the Patriots with Mitch Trubisky set to start at quarterback.
"Mitch has been in the league for some time now. He had experience out there last year. Whenever he comes in he's always prepared, and he knows what he's doing out there. Knows the game plan, and we'll go out there and play for him like he's the starter."
- Johnson added that "it's pretty much the same" schematically with Trubisky running the offense versus Kenny Pickett doing so.
- The Steelers are 29th in the NFL in red zone touchdown efficiency, with 42.3% of their opportunities ending in touchdowns. This is down from last year's mark of 51.9%, which was 22nd in the league.
"We've just got to figure out ways to get the ball in the end zone," Johnson said. "Obviously we've got to run the ball, get the running game going. That's going to open up the passing game, but when we get down in the red zone, there's too many chances where we're just giving up points. We're still trying to figure out what it is. We've just got to play harder when we get down in that red zone and show that we're not out there just floating around. We're trying to score. It's nothing too special about the whole thing, we've just got to play harder and put points up."
