The Steelers will be hosting C.J. Ah You for an interview on Tuesday for their outside linebackers coach position, according to NFL Network.
Ah You, 43, has been the outside linebackers coach at Texas Tech since 2022 and served as interim defensive coordinator during the Red Raiders' 2024 season.
Ah You was a seventh-round pick by the Bills in the 2007 NFL Draft, but was released before the season began. He wound up signing with the Rams and remained there until his playing career ended in 2011.
He got into coaching in 2015 when he was hired by Bob Stoops to be Oklahoma's special teams quality control coach. Ah You then coached Vanderbilt's defensive line in 2016-18, but then advanced to the professional ranks when he became defensive line coach for the XFL's New York Guardians in 2019-2020. His final stop before Texas Tech was one season at USC as a quality control analyst.
This would be Ah You's first job coaching in the NFL. McCarthy has already gone with a few veteran coaches on his staff, including Patrick Graham as defensive coordinator, James Campen as offensive line coach and Adam Henry as wide receivers coach. This is would be a changeup from the hires thus far, showing McCarthy is at least trying to build a diverse staff.
