The Steelers have signed punter Cameron Johnston to a one-year contract. The team announced the signing Tuesday afternoon.
Johnston, 34, previously spent time with the Steelers in 2024, but missed nearly all of that season with a knee injury sustained in Week 1. He went into training camp last summer competing against Corliss Waitman for the punting job, which Waitman won outright. Johnston then split time with the Giants and Bills in 2025.
Waitman is a restricted free agent, so bringing Johnston back could indicate a desire to not tender Waitman a contract.
